The Fault in Our Stars
I just read TFioS by John Green yesterday, and yes, I finished it too last night. I began reading it at 2pm, when my mom and sibs were on their siesta mode and I was alone in my room; I finished reading it at night, 10:45. I really got immersed into it. If you’re planning to buy this book that is available in its hardbound form in almost all bookstores nationwide (Php600+), buy it. This book is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

My advice to those who will be reading it: Just go on with the first few pages even if it might bore you down a bit. Yes, the start was kind of just a first person narrative of a 16-year-old girl named Hazel and how she’s going on with her daily life as a cancer patient. Don’t worry, it’s not just another tragic story of a sick girl. TFioS will make you smile, laugh, wonder, fall in love, and cry – like a lot. The “star-crossed” lovers here, namely Hazel Grace and Augustus, will be as unforgettable as The Hunger Games’ star-crossed ones. Heck, I shall bravely point out that the TFioS love story is more poignant and “real.”
As you go on reading, you will find yourself immersed in the story that you will finally brand it as one of the most beautiful books you’ve ever read. Trust me, this book is a moving, heart-touching one that you won’t soon forget. Be prepared for a lot of quotable quotes. You’ll gain a new perspective on love and life’s shortness after reading this.
Reading The Fault in Our Stars is not a fault at all.
“And then we were kissing. My hand let go of the oxygen cart and I reached up for his neck, and he pulled me up by my waist onto my tiptoes. As his parted lips met mine, I started to feel breathless in a new and fascinating way. The space around us evaporated, and for a weird moment I really liked my body; this cancer-ruined thing I’d spent years dragging around suddenly seemed worth the struggle, worth the chest tubes and the PICC lines and the ceaseless bodily betrayal of the tumors.”

I love you mommy, so much!
Thank you for constantly being there in the 19 years of my life. I thank God for your life, for being the concrete hand that holds me through every joy, sadness, pain, and everything else. May God give you more happiness in life, and I’m so willing to be used by God to give you that happiness you wish for. Mommy, no words can really describe how grateful I am for having you in my life. You’re not like other mothers who work and aren’t always there. You are always there for us, Mom. Always…through the years.

I saw Jenni Epperson yesterday!
Yesterday, I went to to SM North with my cousin Myka…just to bond and have some fun. :) We decided to visit Forever 21 there first at The Block, so off we went. I was surprised to see a book launch there at The Block’s lobby, just in front of the Forever 21 store. One look at the big poster background of the stage and I knew who it is. The woman sitting on the couch was Jenni Epperson, a famous lifestyle blogger and author of the book I really adored just at first sight of it at the bookstore, the “Fashion + Food: Entertaining at Home in Style”.

Exclusively available at National Book Store and Powerbooks, the book seamlessly fuses fashion and food, with Epperson successfully proving how the two concepts make the perfect pairing with tips on crafting and holding unforgettable gatherings throughout the year.
Useful and creative insights from Epperson await readers –from décor suggestions that transform one’s home into an amazing event venue, whipping up mouthwatering dishes with fantastic recipes and creating the perfect ambience with beautiful table setting ideas, to wearing the right ensemble and finding impactful inspirational and motivational quotes for each celebration.
The book also features photography by Tom Epperson, book design and layout by Dix Perez and illustrations by Soleil Ignacio and Kris Abrigo.
Xandra Ramos-Padilla, National Book Store’s Merchandising Director for Books, notes: “Being the epitome of the modern day woman, Jenni is really the ideal person to guide the reader through the concocting of events and affairs that will always be remembered.”
She adds, “A great occasion is always anticipated and, ultimately, enjoyed by both the guests and the host; and thanks to this book by Jenni, women now have a reliable source to turn to when preparing for that much awaited gathering.”
Buy now! Available at National Book Store and Powerbooks. You can also buy it online:www.nationalbookstore.com and www.amazon.com

[Flash 9 is required to listen to audio.]
A while ago, before the Chem lec & while ‘supposedly’ reviewing for the quiz & exam but actually talking about love life, my classmate Ely suddenly sang this song. Then I told her I love that song, so she played it through her phone. She has the Florence & Machine original version, and I’m posting here the Glee one. :)
