My favorite columnist in UP’s weekly newspaper, Kule, had finally bade farewell. Hayyy, I’m gonna miss his column. For a year, his columns never fail to have even just one sentence to tug at my heartstrings, and his words paint a picture of my unspoken sentiments and kind of brings them to life. Yet again, even for the last time, he wrote words that strikes hearts. Now, I’m posting my favorite parts of his last column article here, but I’ll be posting more of his previous works in the next days. Thanks for bringing up these words, Mr. Delfin Mercado. :]
(This article was first published in print in issue 31-32 of the Philippine Collegian on 03 May 2012.)

These days, I always find myself at a loss for words.[…]
I am at loss for words, even for this column. Looking back, I want to take back all the randomness that I’ve written, the self-indulgent words that filled this space for almost a year. I still remember the time when I was first offered the spot on the paper. In hindsight, I shouldn’t have taken it after all. Such a waste of space. The column could have served a higher purpose if it was offered to any other writer.
In the end, all we have left are regrets. Regrets for things that could have been and should have been. What if I tried to focus more on finishing my degree? What if I dedicated this column for a marginalized sector? What if I was less cynical? What if I never met you? Everything would have been different. In the end, there are no surprises, just regrets and questions that we ourselves have already anticipated.
As I pack the things that I have accumulated in the Collegian office – a toothbrush, some pairs of shoes, and some shirts, I realized that failure only comes to those who stop and do nothing. For if we continue, failures are nothing but minute pauses in time. I realized that for so long, this has been what I was doing wrong – I was always stuck with the past, half-thinking that something would gradually change if I let everything be. I drifted into nothingness, and here I am, still stuck in the same old road.
Next year, I’ll enroll a few more subjects, join a new organization, and find a girl or two. I’ll start anew, this time on a more positive note.
Next year, someone more able than me would occupy this space. I don’t know what he or she will become – a cynic, a critic, an artist? But as I go, I want to leave these parting words: struggle to continue, every single day.●

Just this Monday, April 30, I went with my friends James, Denden & Larrenz at the Gateway mall to watch The Avengers. It was a really fun afternoon - with jokes (green jokes), laughters, Taco Bell foodtrip, and picture-taking with the Avengers posters after the movie! Here are the photos as proof of that one awesome afternoon. :)
(Photos from Denden Parreno)

My meal at Taco Bell: Cheesy Doritos something…, their bestseller Cheesy Potato ‘stuff’, and a red iced tea.

With Denden!

James and Larrenz :))

The ticket.

After the movie! I must say, we enjoyed so much we didin’t feel like coming out immediately, and so we cozied up for a little while. :)

When we went out…Larrenz imitating Dr. Banner aka Hulk.

An awesome look-at-the-broken-shades imitation of Nick Fury by James! Haha!

My fail imitation of Black Widow because of too much wind caused by James’ ‘fanning’.

That looked better though.

After the movie, I found it wasn’t only me who now had a crush at Hawkeye. Denden too! I took a picture with his photo! I don’t know, but the thing that Hawkeye was controlled by Loki at first kind of had an alluring effect for me? Plus his electric-blue eyes in the beginning, and of course, that cute Jeremy Renner look + cute, clean cut hair…maybe that’s all the reason why I liked Hawkeye after finishing the film. :D

Awww, it’s blurred, but that’s a funny attempt of Larrenz to make Denden imitate Iron Man - with a laser light from a ballpen as props! Haha!

Fun, fun movie-watching with these guys! I know it’s just the first of the many yet to come.
P.S. I think we’re going red box next week. This time, with my other Chem16 classmates.
P.P.S And that’s excluding Larrenz because he’s not a classmate. Haha. :D

Just had my dose of Iced White Chocolate Mocha from Starbucks a while ago.
That is where I did my paper in Kas1, my last paper for this sem.
When I feel so distracted to review or do acad stuff at house, I go to a coffee shop for a cozy ambiance, awake senses (coffee + aroma, anyone?), and the feel to really focus.
Good for me, because from 0 achievement, I was able to make 4 pages of carefully composed and footnoted paper about demographic winter!
Right now, I’m reviewing for Kas1 final exam tomorrow, and heavily wishing to have a very good performance on taking it.
Then finally, SUMMER rolls in…
!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
So in one of my recent posts, I cited Robbie Becroft’s photo when he jogged in UP Diliman. I think there’s no stopping this handsome guy in invading our campus when it comes to photography. I love that he considers UP as one of his favorite spots to take photographs. And now, feast yourself with these photos of him around UP Diliman campus. I know you can guess where he is in each photo :))

Saw this at Robbie Becroft’s blog. He recently jogged at UP Diliman with Laureen Uy. He even said in his blog, “really for me I appreciate UP at nighttime because the air is fresh, its nice and peaceful and lastly, the campus is beautiful to look at whilst jogging.”
I wish fate would be good…I might get to jog in the Acad Oval and suddenly saw them both. That’d be great. :)

Monday:

I actually don’t have class during Mondays, so I usually spend this day on an afternoon at a mall, shopping or food-tripping. I would love to wear this outfit to look chic and preppy as I stroll around boutiques and restos. :)
Tuesday:

It’s back-to-school for me so I wanna look chic yet smart. This outfit will definitely do the statement.
Wednesday:

Since I only have one class during this day, I opt for simpler clothes because I won’t be staying much on school. This will be a very nice outfit.
Thursday:

Just one more day to go and it’s Friday! Gonna rock the day with my 5 subjects, so I think I’ll go for a rocker-edgy look.
Friday:

TGIF! To celebrate the end of the weekday, I’ll go for bright, poppin’ colors. Plus, the colors of this outfit remind me of Katy Perry’s Last Friday Night :))
More posts like these in the future…
you know you love me,
Kyna
